Let’s meet llamas in Finksburg!
Welcome to the Herd of Spit You Not
We met our first llamas at a guided llama hike in the wilderness area near Taos, New Mexico. The llamas looked funny, but they seemed intelligent and were really easy to handle. The calming presence of a llama was something we hadn’t experienced with any other animal.
Back home, we started dreaming and talking about how much fun we would have owning llamas ourselves one day. It took a decade to figure it all out, but in 2024 we welcomed the first llamas to our recently purchased mini-farm in Carroll County, Maryland, near Rt. 140 between Westminster and Reisterstown. Today, our herd is 10 female llamas: Rhapsody, Savvy, Sassy, Evangelina, Cassandra, HokiePokie, Ellie Mae, Yeren, Serena Teal, and Princeton.
Starting Fall 2026: We are excited to offer private farm visits with hands-on llama interactions. Farm visits are about an hour. Cost is $50 for a group of up to 4 people. Call/text or email us for more information and to book a tour.
Farm Visit Itinerary
Meet at the Circle
First, we’ll meet you in the circle / cul-de-sac for a meet and greet with the llamas.
This is where you’ll park.
Mini-Hike and Obstacles
We’ll then walk with llamas from the circle to our pasture, visit the barn, and take llamas through an obstacle course. Great time for group photos and llama-selfies.
Reminder: wear good shoes!
Llama Hangout
The visit ends with a llama hangout in the driveway, pasture, and/or barn. You’ll meet the whole herd, have opportunities for llama kisses and pets, and may give the llamas a snack.
